Ingredients

2 cups wheat flour

1 cup pure ghee

1 cup grated jaggery (or sugar)

2 tablespoons pistachios

2 tablespoons melon seeds

½ teaspoon cardamom powder

A pinch of nutmeg powder

8–10 saffron strands (optional)


How to Make

Heat ghee in a heavy-bottom pan over low flame.

Add wheat flour and roast slowly for 18–20 minutes until it turns golden brown and releases a rich nutty aroma.

Stir continuously to avoid burning.

Add almonds, cashews, pistachios, and melon seeds. Roast for another 2 minutes.

Remove the pan from the heat and allow the mixture to cool slightly.

Mix in grated jaggery until it melts evenly from the residual heat.

Add cardamom, nutmeg, and saffron.

Transfer the mixture to a greased tray and spread evenly.

Let it cool completely before cutting into squares or diamonds.
